    Other models are being considered:

1.  A Fortepiano based on the Anton Walter built in Vienna in 1795 / 1800 now in the Germanisches Nationalmuseum in Nurnberg. The original range is FF-g3 (62 notes).

Dimensions: Length: 86½” width: 39½” depth: 10?” height: 33½”
                   (219.7 x 100.3 x 25.7 x 85.6)

The action is typical for this style of early Viennese piano, light and very responsive. The instrument has adjustable escapements and individually adjustable backchecks. The hammer heads are covered in up to six layers of leather. The pitch is set at a’=430 hz.

The instrument has two knee levers: the right raising the treble portion of the damper rail and the left raising the entire damper rail.  The instrument has a pull-out moderator.  The first 41 notes in the bass and tenor are double strung with the final 22 treble notes being triple strung for greater power. Only the best English soft wire has been used.

The case is solid spruce covered with a walnut veneer.  The bottom is solid spruce and the pinblock is of white oak.   The soundboard and apron are both of European spruce. The spruce keyboard has ebony covered naturals with ebony and bone accidentals.   The hammer shanks, hammer heads, escapements, damper jacks and backchecks are all steamed Swiss pear.   The keywell and music desk are veneered with walnut and Swiss curley maple and the lid, flap and legs are veneered with walnut. Decorative veneering is available on request.
